USBank checking

Hi all!

I recently discovered that there is a usbank branch about 150 miles from me. I happen to be going there for work in a few months, otherwise I wouldn't consider going there.

I can't find anything online that says they won't let me open a checking account if I line that far from a branch, so does anyone know if you can open an account with them being that far away from a branch?

Thanks!

Re: USBank checking

As long as you live in a state that has a US Bank branch office then you can apply online for a checkings/savings account with them. That's what a rep told me when I tried doing this myself but couldn't because Texas doesn't have any

You should have no problems if it's in the same state. Distance to your address is irrelevant.

US Bank is now in the process of opening banks in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. Goal was 2019 into 2020.

It doesn't let me do it online. Maybe I can call them and see if they can help me over the phone

I have a Branch a few miles away, I could not open online.. had to go in person to open.

They might over the phone, But I am guessing they'll want ID.

I had to show a few things. after that .. smooth sailing.

It's a moot point for me I got in through my brother since his mortgage is through USB by just opening a joint savings account. Will help others though who might be geo-restricted and live in the above states
