(I mean what cash back rate, not what cash back amount! lol)
I've got some questions about the Uphold debit card, as an alternative to the Discover Cashback debit card or the Fold Spin debit card.
You earn 2% if you pay with crypto. But you have to get the crypto. Based on uphold dot com's "Service Fees: Personal Accounts" page, I think the cheapest and safest crypto I could get is USDC. And there is a 0.65% conversion fee. So what is my optimal round-trip cash back amount?
Miscellaneous related questions: Does that 0.65% conversion fee apply both when I buy the USDC and when I pay with it? Am I misunderstanding that fee? Does it maybe not apply when you use this card? Is there a way to avoid the fee? Is there an easy way to buy USDC for less somewhere else and move it to Uphold?
So many questions.I'm sure some will be answered if I read more carefully, which is what I plan to start doing. But I'm confident that I'll miss something in all this detail, and maybe these questions will help guide someone else. To me it seems like I must end up paying 0.65% at least in one direction, and end up with 1.35% back or 0.7% cash back. But I don't really understand.
I'm not familiar with the card you are asking about, sorry. But after reading your post, my head is spinning, lol. Just get a good 2% CB card and call it a day?
Bro not for nothing but.....youve made like 600 threads in the last 2 days. Why dont you take a moment to step back and do a search of these forums, then browse and read some topics of intrest. Do a little leg work and then come and make a thread with some data points and a solid understanding of what you are looking for. Its hard to sift thriough your threads and you look like a fish out of water. I cant tell if you are just hyper and new, excitedly shotgunning questions out, or you are super sus. Either way good luck man, I hope you find the answers you seek here.
Sorry, yes I'm hyper and new. Just got my first card in 10 years. I'm giving myself a one-week timeout from starting new threads. I expected them to drop immediately like on reddit, and not take up so much space.
I have mostly been getting the answers I seek! But I realize now that this is a smaller group than reddit, and I need to be mindful of giving space and time to others.
I do object a little bit to the idea that I don't do research though. Many of my posts give lists of things I've tried or found. Heck, I even gave a post with information from calling customer service!

In retrospect, I may have come across a bit abrasive. My apologies. I can certainly remember when I had discovered this site and the wealth of knowledge as I started my credit journey. I truly hope you do get as much from here as we all have!
rosco75, I don't think you have anything to apologize for. You were right to be a bit forceful since you didn't know how much it would take to get through to me, and "in retrospect" (as you say) I was also a bit inconsiderate with my spam tactics. Plus I enjoy a bit of banter on the interwebz. We are cool.
Okay, I gave myself a 7-day timeout from new posts. Planning to do 2 tomorrow. Seem legit?
