Authorized User question

My fiancee and I both have 2 Cap one secured cards each never been late on payments for both of us. Would adding each other as AU on ours cards give us the boost in score? We wouldn't take a hit on AOAA would we? We are trying to get a house when our lease is up in December.

Re: Authorized User question

It depends on the age of the card and the age of the oldest on your accounts.

Re: Authorized User question

Since it wouldn't be the oldest, there could be a ding on AAoA if it got rearranged.

Re: Authorized User question

how much would it be, or is there no way of knowing? i'm just wondering if it would recover in time since we don't plan on even looking until our lease is just about up in December. It would then drop our scores initailly then right?

Re: Authorized User question

I can't really say.  But if you add 2 6 month old cards to a AAoA of 3 years I'm sure it will take a hit.  By how much I can't say.

Re: Authorized User question

Would that take a score hit or aoaa hit? Trying to decide if the initial hit will be worth it

Re: Authorized User question

If AAoA takes a hit, your score most likely will too.  Just don't know how much.
