BoA question

Hi all,

Still rebuilding and having great success due to these boards and all of you FICO experts!

I have had 3 CAs delete, I lowered my util, I disputed 4 pd med collections (2 of which have already been deleted), and my EQ score has gone from a 595in December to 646 last week!

Thanks so much, MyFICO!

Here's my newest question:

I had a BoA credit card, EQ shows DOFD 6/06, EXP shows it will stay on record until 11/14 (that discrepancy is strange, hunh?).

Anyway, I settled it for half the amount due with a CA, who is not reporting, BoA is.

What are my chaces of doing a GW for deletion?

Or would it work better to offer the remaining amount (about 800) for PFD?

Has anyone had success with BoA and CO deletions???

The listing now shows CO, legally settled, $0 due.

I really hope I don't just have to wait for this to fall off. Please help!  Smiley Happy

EDIT: Just realized that TRANS shows this acct will fall off 2/12...so how could all 3 CRAs show such different fall off dates?

Re: BoA question

Did the CA own the account or did BoA still own it when you settled?

Do you know when you actually went delinquent?

Re: BoA question

I'm not sure about that! The CA threatened me, so I paid them, but they have never reported on my CR.

By delinquent, do you mean DOFD?

Yes, but I am asking if you know the actual DOFD, not what is being reported. This is to determine if they are reporting it correct or not.

Re: BoA question

Hi...no I don't know from memory or records what the actual DOFD was. Would that be my very first 30 day or when it went to collection?

Here's what I found on the CRs:

EXP: 1st 30 day listed as June 2003, 120 days as of Feb 2004 (then tried to get back on track and made some on time pymts), 180 days as of Nov 2006, scheduled to stay on record until 11/2014

TRANS: only shows last 48 months, feb 2005 shows 120 days, estimated date of removal 2/2012

EQ: first 30 day listed as June 2003, went 120 days in Feb 2004, again 12o days in Sept 2006, 180 days Nov 2006, lists DOFD 6/2006, listed CO 1/2008

Does that answer your question?   Smiley Wink

Re: BoA question

DOFD is not literaly your first delinquency. Its the first delinquency after which the account was never back on track or in good standing. Basically, this delinquency is usually followed by 180 days late and subsequent charge off or collection activity and the account would be closed.

EQ - I believe lists DOLA which is usually your last payment or transaction whichever came later.

EX - if you go back 7 years, you would get your DOFD and hence EQ and EX dates are two different things and they dont have to match if those are what you are comparing.

I think you could call the CRAs to find out the exact DOFDs or DOLAs listed.

But you have to know yourself the actual dates if you want to establish a violation.

I know my DOLA cause it was a payment and I have my bank statement to prove it. I however do not have my credit card statements to prove that I had not used the card after that. DOFD obviously would be in the next 3-4 months but I cant dispute it.The above notwithstanding, if the figures are inconsistent with the 3 CRAs for the same account, then I belive your dispute is made a lot easier.

Re: BoA question

Thanks for helping me understand...guess I'm still confused!

EQ lists N/A as DOLA.

Wondering if I should offer to pay remaining balance to negotiate a PFD...what do you all think?

Or should I just let it fall off (at random times during a two year period).  Smiley Tongue

Re: BoA question

Because EQ shows a DOFD, let's say that it is accurate for a moment.

If the DOFD is 6/2006 then the account can not remain any longer than 7 1/2 years from then. Which would mean it would have to be removed on or before 12/2013.

The TU reported fall off date is before 12/2013, so it is ok. The EX removal date is way off.

I would start by calling BoA and ask for a complete payment history on the account.

Also, when is the last reported/updated date?

Re: BoA question

Last reported dates:

EQ: Date reported, 2.08

EXP: Last Reported, 2/08

TU: Date Updated, 2/08

Whew...at least consistency there! Guess that's because I paid in 1/08.

Would you recommend that I contact them for pymt history only when I am prepared to pay the difference? Or would they maybe not even consider that until I brought it up? My hope is to negotiate a PIF for a deletion or restart... Just wondering because I'd hate for my contact with them to change something on the reporting time.  Smiley Sad

Re: BoA question

It is up to you when you contact them.

Since you want to try to GW, I would try GW first and use the DOFD inconsistency as a back up plan.

I hear BoA is pretty tough though, sending one person a cease and desist on sending GW letters.
