Cap One Prequal Site changes

So I do my usual check of the prequal site this morning, and one, they've changed things slightly. They are no longer asking for your entire SSN, but now just ask for the last four digits. 

And now, at least for me, it didn't recommend the secured card as it has been doing. 

It says "we can't match your records to a card offer" but then presents the Platinum, then the QS1, and then finally the secured. 

So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to app for the Plat today. My scores are all in the neighborhood of 600 or slightly more.

Do it! And apply for the QS1 immediately afterward and it'll use the same hard pull. I just did this for my bf & myself. Unfortunately my bf only got approved for the Platinum right now so I'm gonna re-apply for the QS1 in a month or 2 for him, but I was approved for both w/ scores around 580 for TU & EX and 560 for EQ. They only started us out w/ $300 limits but we're in the credit steps program so I'm gonna follow the advice of this forum to increase them. I think you have a good chance if we got in w/ lower scores than you. Good luck! And btw, when I did pre-qual for both my bf and I it always said it couldn't match an offer so I just pulled the trigger and app'd.

It should make no difference at all, your SSN can be matched to your address with only the last 4 numbers.

Didn't change my offers, still getting 'we think you'll like Venture and QS'.

I was previously approved for a QS1 and Plat from Cap1 with a 589 FICO. Pull the trigger my friend. They'll give it to you. May be a lower CL but you just need to get your feet wet with them first. I've had both cards for 3MO now and they've upp'd me another $500 through the luv button. YMMV! Good luck! (Although I don't think you'll need it)..

App'd for the Plat and was approved with a $500 line ... Clicked Submit on the QS1 app a second after getting my approval and I got a "Session Interrupted" message. Says if you clicked Submit (which I did) it is being processed and you'll hear from Cap 1 in 7-10 days .... So ... well, glad I got the Plat, guess I'll wait and see on the QS1
