Re: Capital One QuicksilverOne

CAP1 is really easy to get

You can have a CO, CA and still be approved with scores in low 600's to mid 650

The real question tho is more of what your entire profile looks like?

Baddies?

Paid or unpaid?

Other TL's?

How old are the baddies?

Any positive history? I.E. Car, SL, Mortgage etc etc ?

CAP1 is even known to accept you back even tho you burned themSmiley Surprised

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Capital One QuicksilverOne

Hello, Thanks so much. Right now my scores are 552, 568, 572. I have 2 FP COs from 2008 that are set to fall off 2/15 so I was going to wait till they fell off to apply.

But I have 4-6 collection accounts depending on report. They are all a few years old besides one from 2013 that just showed up today on Experian that I am disputing right now. The other fall off 2016-2017 besides one that falls off 5/15.

When I stared I had about 16 accounts, including FP, but managed to get where I am now. I just over the weekend had 5-6 collections taken off but it didnt help my score at all. They were all small old medical collections.

My positives are a Capital One Secured Card since 4/14. $83/$200

Credit One- 8/14- $0/$300

Victorias secret CC-9/14-$0/$250

I dont plan to app right now because I feel my score are to low and was going to garden the cards I have now till my FP co falls off then apply. I am currently asking for a early exclusion on the FP CO so if it does come off sooner then February I wanted to see what my scores should be before applying that way I dont waste a inquiry. I feel once the FP CO comes off it will help my score a lot!

IMHO if you can stick with your plan I think by that time scores will be ok to apply (2/15)

The more you can get off your CR's the better your chances of approval

Bring your balance down on CAP1 before statement cuts its a little to high for reporting purposes

Remember you can charge the full amount 2-3 times a month if you like just pay it off as needed and let it report a balance 1-9% (statement cut)

This goes for any of your cards

Run up $250 of VS but let it report 1-9% at statement cut .....all others $0

Re: Capital One QuicksilverOne

Okay great. Thanks so much. I forgot to mention that one of the collections that is currently listed on 2 reports (RJM) accepted my PDF for half of the amount owed!! So all I have to do is pay that one and then that will be off too. That one wasnt set to come off till 2016.

My Capital One balance right now is $40 and when the statement cuts on the 12th it will be $0. So do you think I should only let the VS card report every month? Im new to all this so im still learning.....I know when my cap 1 and credit one reports but still dont know about VS bc I havent used it yet.

Thank you again for all of your advice and help. Any advice and opinions is more then welcomed. I need all the advice I can get!

Sorry for the late response I tend to spend time in all forums as well but will be around here more for awhile

That's great news of the RJM PFD

It does not matter which card you let report I was just giving an example Lol

I tend to change who reports every 2 months but that's just me.

That way I feel every card shows some history during the year

Just make sure that at no time all cards report $0 in a month ...That's a No No Fico will ding you for that.

Keep up the good work

Re: Capital One QuicksilverOne

I have a Capital One charge off that will be falling off in January (tried for early exclusion but failed miserably lol).  I got the secured $49 secured card a few months ago.  On a whim, I checked the prequalified link and they said that I was eligible for the Quicksilver and another one - I apped for the Quicksilver and got a $300 limit.

Honestly, I am still surprised they are giving me another chance.  I have a secured US Bank card and a Credit One card with a $600 limit.  The US Bank card is paid in full before it reports and I have a small amount charged to the other one.  My scores are in the low 600s now - I have been rebuilding since April.

I am going into the Garden now for awhile and let time take its course.  I really am not interested in having credit cards but getting the bad crap off my report was only creating such a thin file my scores were actually dropping.  I would go for it and just put it up for the time being.

Re: Capital One QuicksilverOne

My scores according to MyFico are 560, 567, 551...

I have 4 negatives reporting, ton of inquiries, only postives I have are one closed Citgo cc reported as paid never late, and a cc from First Premier with 12 months of on time never late payment history, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the "Congrats you're approved" lol

Yes I had a recent collection at the time of my approval...(2.5 months)  my credit score for all three had gone down to 606-617 across the board....I got a 2000 credit line....with instant approval, but I also had their secured card for two years which i was very good at paying....oh I also have a savings account with them so those may have helped....

My husband had nothing at all on his credit and he also got a 2000 instant credit line....
