I have a collection account that appears on my Transunion report via SmartCredit but it does not appear in Credit Karma nor does it appear on my monthly 3 report Experian account? Should get a report directly from Transunion to see if it is there?
The amount is for $177.00 it was placed in collection Jan 2015 last verified march 2020. I've never seen or heard of it until now. Again its not on my 3 bureaus from Experian. I called the CA this morning and they pulled up the account information. It is an old medical account. She said they do delete after payment, that's their practice.
Should I just pay it and be done with it or let it age off? I am in New York State.
Credit Karma usually isn't super up to date, it's possible they're behind, same with Experian. Although in my experience, Experian is pretty on the ball with their 3 CB reports.
If they delete after payment, I'd consider it a blessing and pay it, if you're able. A lot of agencies aren't doing that anymore (I'm a former collection agent).
Its legit or more than likely legit.
Ill pay it on Monday. Weird that Experian is not picking up. Nothing I have picked it up as being added.
Experian, Credit Karma, Capital One Creditwise nothing! I did not check my annual credit report. Would that be the most up to date possible report I can get?
Smartcredit report is from today.

Honestly, it just hasnt probably hit the other CRs yet. Doesn't matter how up to date, not everything pops up the same day. For me, TU is the first to post bad news (up to 2 months before the other 2 CRAs) and the last to post good news (positive info also takes about 2 months to pop up vs. the other 2 CRAs). It just depends. If you can pay it before they post to all the CRAs, that would be one less headache overall. If you aren't using your credit for the next 2 years, then that is up to you if you'd just rather it fall off naturally.
Good luck!
I have the money, I'll just pay it. I was going to pay it online with the reference number they gave me but I will wait until they are open tomorrow and talk to a rep that way I know I am paying on the correct account and no typos or anything else.
Thanks guys. Also going to see if they can email me over a PIF letter or receipt right away for my records without having to wait for it to come in the mail.
Well creditkarma picked it up this morning, so I am paying for it monday. Will see if they will take 60 or 70% on it first before just paying the entire thing.
