Collections inaccurately dated

So in 2011 i was living with my father. The deal was i paid pge and he paid the cable, vut the cable was in my name. The IRS started garnishing his wages and i didnt have enough income to pay both bills. So it was either the cable or the lights, i chose the lights. Comcast refused to work with me or help me out. It went to collections and now on my EQ and TU reports it says the open date is 2013. How do i dispute this and is there any way i can get the debt removed from my reports?

Re: Collections inaccurately dated

The open date is the date the collection became active with the CA. It doesn't mean the first time you went delinquent on the actual debt in question. So it reporting opened in 2013 is not necessarily inaccurate.
