Confused about pfd letter

Hi,

Can I send a pfd letter to a creditor? or do I have to send a dv first? I seen a few others talking about sending dv's and pfd's and I am really lost.  I know these debts are mine,and I want to pay them in full,  but I wanted to get them deleted off my credit report. Can you fax a pfd letter? please help me.

Are you dealing with the OC or CA?

You do not have to send a DV before PFD. However, I would reccommend doing so. Even if you know the debt is yours, do you know if they have the legal right to collect, still have the debt, etc?

You can fax a PFD letter. The important thing with a PFD is having a response on company letterhead, signed by a proper person at the CA.

okay I have 7 collections and one charge off. All of them are about 2-3 years old.

 Collections:
CAVALRY PORTFOLIO SERVIC for sprint PCS
CREDIT PROTECTION ASSOC  for Comcast Cable
LVNV FUNDING LLC  for best buy credit card
MERCHANTS & MEDCAL  for a storage unit i had
MIDWESTERN AUDIT SVC for consumers energy
RUSSELL COLLECTION for jumbo video
UNIQUE NATIONAL COLLECTI for the library

Charge off:
FIRST PREMIER BANK .

Do I send a pfd letter to the CA? Also with the comcast cable, consumers,storage unit, jumbo video and the library can I just go to those places to pay what I owe them?  I am trying to get somethings paid off and taken off my credit so I can get approved for a Fha loan.

You can contact the OC and ask them if they'd accept payment and remove from collections. If they've sold the account, they can't. Otherwise, it is up to them.

If these are within SOL, don't do anything unless you can PIF right away (if they were to file suit).

If you can PIF or they are out of SOL, then DV before PFD.
