Hi all.
I had an unpaid bill with Sprint that was sent to Convergent Outsourcing. After reading discussions on this forum, I spoke with Sprint and paid them directly. I was told that if I paid them directly they would recall the account and it would not be reported on my credit reports. I also saved a chat with Sprint that states this so I had documentation. I paid Sprint in April. The account was removed from Transunion/Equifax within 30 days but is still showing on my Experian report.
I was wondering what my next steps should be. I need this removed from Experian as it is the only derrogatory mark on my credit and is hurting my score. I've worked hard to rebuild this past year and would like to remove this final account. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Welcome to the forums @moonsun19
Did you call back and ask if they would update EX again?
I spent 6 hours on the phone with Sprint today. They again were saying it should have been removed but were not able to recall it. Convergent told me they cannot delete it.
Sprint said I should send a Goodwill letter but after searching it looks like they are usually unsuccessful. Sprint also mentioned disputing it but I am not sure if that is a bad idea. Any ideas?
Take your copy of the chat, your reports, and go to a T-Mobile store and show them all you got. In person works alot better. Maybe then the reps can call corp and get it taken care of since T-mobile took over Sprint. Step by step. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I would recommend to file a complaint with CFPB to have it deleted....it's worth a shot!!! It worked for my fiance!!
He had a cable bill that went into collections and the invoice went to the wrong address, so it hit his credit report. Convergent refused to PFD and we refused to give them a single penny unless they agreed to delete it. Anyway, I had originally disputed this account for his as "not his own account". However, came back verified. Then, I decided that it wasn't fair that he didn't get the bill lol, so I filed the complaint with CFPB that he was never notified etc. Long story short, just today I logged into CFPB and the ticket was closed because Convergent agreed to delete it from all 3 credit reports. We haven't even paid them yet woo hoo. So once it's deleted, then we'll pay the cable company directly.
Overall, I say it's worth a shot!!!!! Say they lied to you and only deleted it off two reports and not one. Clearly, they can delete it. I think dealing with CFPB scares the bejesus out of them. Definitely worth a shot.
Can you give any update on your outcome and how you went about getting the account removed?
Im currently helping a friend with this issue and every time we call Sprint directly, were getting different information on the procedure. One rep says itll be removed, another rep says itll simply update the balance to zero.
My friends intention is to pay Sprint the entire balance. Anyone with a similar situation care to chime in on what the procedure is and how to get Convergent Outsourcing removed?
Did you ever get it removed from your friends report? I paid off sprint directly (after the chat agent stated it would be removed from my CR) and it's still there after 90 days. I sent an email to the t-mobile CEO and someone called me and said that I just needed to dispute with Convergent.

Obvious always best get debt settle agreement it writing .. especially from a debt collector.. They will try to hustle you to send money immediately without a confirmation of terms.. will they this honor agreement ? .. likely yes .. but at the hassle of you waiting for agreement results to happen
