Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

@RobynJ I had replied to that generic response they gave me and got this reply. Basically saying the same thing. They mention RentTrack is "a part of Self" to try and cover themselves but it's not working with me. They can try fooling someone else with that. I won't let this go and will take legal action if what happened is illegal. I'm going to get a free consultation and see what can be done, if anything. I won't tolerate my personal data being shared without my knowledge or authorization. I love how they're trying to blame TU.

@MarkyB

If I were you I would ask for a written confirmation from both parties of the exact nature of what transpired , who was at fault, and how it happened in the first place.

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

What's up guys! I'm stopping by to give a small update. I've been doing well gardening my accounts and staying patient with the process. I'm a couple weeks away from getting my official fico scores. My vantagescore is now in the 700s on both my equifax and experian reports. My transunion remains in the mid 600s cuz of the collection account still reporting on it but that should get removed in about 4 months. The collection account never came back on my experian report after it randomly dropped off at the 6 year mark about 5 months ago. I'm still making monthly payments on my self builder account and keeping all my cards at 3%-4% of their limit.

I know the VS is practically irrelevant but that's all I have to go with for now to guage my growth. I will surely update this thread once my official scores come through. Until then, I love seeing the growth from when I first started til now. It def keeps me motivated.

@MarkyB  Awesome job my friend. Keep up the great work. I finally got my Fico 8 scores at the beginning of August.

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

@RobynJ thank you and great job yourself! I'd be on cloud 9 with those scores lol. So how long did it fully take to receive the fico 8 since the first account you opened?

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

Updating my situation. I started rebuilding the beginning of May. That was about 6 weeks before my CH7 BK DC. I ended up getting four secured cards and an SSL. One to two cards usually report a balance. Last month I let all of them report. The highest was at 36%. My SSL is was at 88% when it reported last month. I have now paid all but one card off. One reported the zero balance. That was the one at 36%. Waiting for the other two to report in a few days. My scores have gone from low 500s a few months ago to EX being at 672 (that updates with changes). I haven't updated my EQ and TU scores since the beginning of the month. They were both at 636. Hoping for 680 and 640s after the new balances report. I also paid the SSL down to 67%. That should also be worth a few points.  Just goes to show that we have control over our scores and can improve them if we put in the effort.

EQ - 693 / TU - 664 / EX - 675

Capital One Savor - $16000 / Capital One Venture - $13000 / Travel Advantage Visa - $11500 / TD Cash Card - $7500 / Bread Rewards AMEX - $6950 / Apple Card - $6500 / TD Double Up - $5500 / Mercury - $5000 / Ally Master Card - $4300 / DCU Visa - $3000 / Capital One QuickSilver - $500

Re: How many accounts enough to build credit?

@RobynJ nice so hopefully I'll get my fico next week. I opened my self builder account middle of March along with my Discover card. Discover already sent me a email stating I will be getting my deposit back soon since I'm nearing 6 months. They really seem to stay on top of things which is great. I've had a very pleasant experience with Discover so far.
