I closed my account some years ago

I closed a couple of accounts with capital one and chase a few years ago thru a non profit debt consolidation program. It's been at least 2 years since they've been closed and they're paid off, no charge off. Would this affect any future applications to those cards?

Were they ever late?  CapOne is well known as been very forgiving, so regardless if you ever had any lates, it is likely you'll be able to get back in effective immediately.  Chase is more of a wild card.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

I'd pull one of your reports and see what it says for those tradelines and how the program actually handled your debt

Considering it's been over a year Capital One will likely let you back in, Chase probably not so soon. If you have your Chase account, you can check for offers.

Assuming Chase was paid in full then I'd say the odds are very good you can get back in immediately.

Cap One, you're probably good to go.

Chase will most likely be a bit longer. Even if you paid off entire balance, debt consolidation involves lowering payments, longer repayment terms, lowered interest.

So while a person technically may not have burned them, it's outside of Cardmember agreement which is going to be "unsatisfactory previous relationship" denial

How long that lasts is anyone's guess, you will have to apply in order to find out if you're on naughty list or not
