I was told if you do a PFD it could lower your score.
I have 5 parking tickets with allianceone that I want to do pfd

ALLIANCEONE REC MGT SPEC
Haven't ever heard of a "dept release letter". What does it say specifically? Myself, I would want something that was VERY clear they are to delete upon receipt of the payment.
Another question....can you just go back to the Seattle Police Dept (assuming they issued the ticket/debt) and pay it directly to them? If so, that would be paying the OC directly and force the CA to stop reporting on your credit.
And yes, be prepared to PIF especially if you are withing SOL as they could technically sue you.
More importantly....do you have warrants for your arrest? Around here, unpaid tickets go before the judge and warrants are issued. Not a good path to go down.

I didnt get the tickets...it was my ex...long story.
Do you think i can still go to the traffic court & pay them. So if I pay them to the OC the CA cant report it?
Thanks
also thanks for that
extremely helpful
"Only when an account 1) is an extension of credit and/or 2) was "positive" at one point would removing it hurt your score. Since this was always a collection (per se), removing it via PFD can ONLY be a good thing!! This NEVER positively contributed toward your AAoA (Average Age of Accounts) ~ AKA known as Length of Credit History

Sorry for hijacking OP but my fiance is going through the same thing and tried to pay his parking tickets off. They're so old that the parking authority doesn't even have record of them and he can't pay without record. It's still showing as a collection on his credit report. What should he do?
