Re: Journaling My Rebuild

Hey @Anonymous Thank you! I haven't tried to GW yet, I plan on trying to do a GW in the next few weeks. Hopefully we both will have success!

Re: Journaling My Rebuild

I recieved an alert today that a collection was removed from my TU report, I recieved an increase of 78 points!  Went from 612 to 690 which was awesome news.  However, I was looking at my EX report today and it the collection was removed from there and EQ as well but i have not seen a score bump with them which I find very strange.

I know that they all update at different times, but it seems like since the collection was removed, I should have seen an update from all 3.

Re: Journaling My Rebuild

Great post, I posted a similar one on this Rebuild thread as well.  Good luck, the journaling has helped me!

I wanted to start a thread to journal my rebuild.  Currently I have a few things that I need to work on, 3 charge off accounts; 3-4 collections and late payments that I would like to have removed through GW.

Starting scores on 5/8/2020

EQ-572

TU-584

Goal Score: 700

Plan for May

-Goodwill Amex, Merrick and Synchrony Bank

-Continue Goodwill campaign for Honda late payments

-Work on collection accounts PFD

-Continue to stay in garden for 6 months to a year (unless I get the optima application)

On 5/6/20

My Equifax increased by 23 points,  I believe this was from decreased utilization on the Citicard that I was an AU on, since the balance went from 1832.00 to 1032.00 ,which brought it down to 51% utilization.  I removed myself as an AU after this was reported, hopefully, I don’t take too much of a hit when it updates as removed.

Currently waiting on my paid/settled charge offs  to report as paid, once it updates I will document any changes to my scores.  I also sent a dispute for a collection that was inaccurate on my reports.

Current Scores as of today

EX 567

EQ 595

TU 580

Starting Score: 12/18/2019 EQ 601 | TU 614 | EX 596
Current Score after recent fall from grace: 02/8/2023 EQ 647 | TU 660 | EX 663

Re: Journaling My Rebuild

So much has happened that wasnt document.  My transunion score went up to 697, my EQ went to 680 and my EX was at 624 in the month of July.   I came up on my 91/3 with NFCU and decided to go for the 2nd card and a CLI with my GoRewards.  I applied for the Amex More rewards card and was approved for 3k CL.  I later applied for the CLI and my CL went from 1k to 2k so an increase of 1000.00.  These are not the high limits I see on the other posts in the pasts, but I am grateful.

In August, my GoRewards card wasnt paid in full like I normally do.  They reported 614.00 utilization (out of 1k) and that brought my scores down in addition to apping for the NFCU AMEX.    Last week I recieved an offer from AMEX themselves for the skymiles card.  Now, what is interesting is that this was the card that was in collections when I started my rebuild back in April.  I did PIF in attempts to get the Optima, but they never resent the optima offer to me.  (they told me they had sent in 2019 but i had never received or responded to it). I wanted the optima so badly though just to get back in with Amex!!  Anyhow, last week they sent the offer and I was said to myself "hmm my scores are not where they should be, but maybe they are sending for a reason.  The offer had my old skymiles number and everything, so I went ahead an applied, they gave me a message to call, and when I did they said they couldnt move forward with the app because i had a fraud alert on my experian.  (BTW I recieved a HP on EX)  they explained that I would need to call experian, have them remove the alert and then call amex in about 5 business days to reapply.  So last week, I called EX and had them to remove the alert,

Today, I started thinking that I shouldnt apply because my scores had taken a dip, and I didnt want another HP for something that I would get denied for (2HP in total from EX).  But then I thought, heck why not, so I called Amex, explained that I removed the fraud alert and gave them my reference number, I was instantly approved for a SL of 1k.  I am still in SHOCK.  Only because I wanted the amex optima so badly, and to get back into the amex family again.  Now I am officially back into the Amex family and I couldn't be happier, hopefully, I can build this card's limit with time.

The Amex skymiles promotion is that I can earn 60k bonus miles after I spend 2k in the first 3 months.

So now my fico 8 scores are

TU 683

EQ 663

EX 611

I am hoping that the rise once I pay off my go rewards card this month.

Re: Journaling My Rebuild

WOW! That's amazing progress! What changed that was able to jump your scores by almost 100pts each?

Congrats on the cards... remember, don't go too crazy on the cc apps. :-) maintain the improvement.

Re: Journaling My Rebuild

You probably know this already. I have a couple of NFCU credit cards myself and they close on the 14th and report on the 16th or 17th of each month. Good Luck!
