Medical Collection

Hi all, Im hoping someone can help me with my situation. I have two medical collections from an emergency room visit early last year before my company had insurance. They are both being reported by the same CA. I contacted the OC to see if I could do a PFD. After many attempts and requests to speak to supervisors I finally got a supervisor who agreed to do a PFD. The catch was that he swore to me that they couldnt put it in writing until a payment was made. I fought as much as I could but they said they just couldnt put it down in writing. So I paid in full and waited. A week later still nothing in writing. The payment cleared the very next day but still no letter even though the hospital is located 10 mins from my house. Today I sent the pre-Hipaa letters the CRAs but I just remembered I disputed these collections last month online. I honestly forgot about this emergency visit and was surprised to see these on my reports. Can I still use the Hipaa process to have these removed from my report?

Re: Medical Collection

Yes, you can still use the HIPAA letter process. Wait for the CRAs to complete their investigation of your disputes. You did send these letters CMRRR? Once you receive your results, post them in forum for further advice. GL!

Re: Medical Collection

Thanks Fused. I did send the letters CMRRR. Should I wait 35 days from today or when I get the green cards back?

Re: Medical Collection

Wait until the CRAs complete their investigation on your disputes, whether it takes 3 days or 35 days. Some forum members have been getting deletions after just writing the pre-HIPAA dispute letter on paid collections.
