YES!! They should have a record of how he was served ...
However, bear in mind, that according to Texas law, if a family member or friend signed for the papers and was 16 or older, it counts as being "properly served." If someone signed for mail (CMRR), it counts, too.
But first step is that he needs to know HOW he was served and WHO might have signed for it.
If it says HE signed for it and he knows he DID NOT, he may have top prove that it could not have been his siggie. Perhaps utility bills from another residence? Plane tickets showing he was out of town? Durn nigh anything -- anything that will cause a judge to doubt the server's honesty.
Again, that's ONLY if he was not served correctly and the plaintiff (or plaintiff's agent) lied. 'Cause by law, he would have had to have been served for the judgment to have gone through.
