Re: Midland did it again .... another delete!!!!

Thanks for that information. No, I never received a note from them UNTIL I saw them on my credit report and DV'd them and disputed with the CRA's.They told my attorney general that my request for validation was not timely and under the laws, they do not have to validate. I guess my question is why in the world would you  not validate something if you want to be paid for it. If they can prove it's mine then I'll pay it, but  I am not paying something that I have no clue what it is.

Can someone offer the contact from Midland. I have 5 accounts past the SOL. Midland will not repsond to DV letters and CRA's keep verifying the account on my credit report.

Re: Midland did it again .... another delete!!!!

Whether you have the contact info or not.....Midland, and most others, will not respond positively to a GW if the acct has not been paid in full.  Asking for such, would be fruitless.

The best course of action is to pif, then send a GW.

If your OC's did a CO & sold the acct to collections, try calling the OC & ask who they sold the acct to.  That's the best you can do if midland has owned the acct for some time & are not responding to DV's.  Start with OC & follow the money trail.

Re: Midland did it again .... another delete!!!!

For all those interested, the person I think everyone is talking about might the the CR supervisor. I will push past her and go to the Sr. VP, general council through the parent company. Worst that could happen is I initiate the litigation. Better for me, because the burdewn of proof will be on them....I think.

Re: Midland did it again .... another delete!!!!

Update....I contacted the CEO and was replied to by the next day. My e-mail was fwd to the compliance dept and  and I was contacted by a very nice lady. We spoke on the phone re: these accounts. Both were only open for 6 months and she even admitted that was "odd". Anyway, to make a long story short, Midland was VERY nice and they have agreed to delete the two accounts from my credit reports. I was even sent an e-mail verifying it. I have been dealing with this for over a year and I must say this a HUGE victory and will probably mean I am going to be able to purchase a house here soon. Thanks to everyone on the forums that have given such great insight and advice!!! :-)
