Midland reporting question

I had an account with Verizon that I refused to pay and they would never accept my PFD.  They ended up selling the account to Midland which I verified by phone with Verizon (They also offered me a new account since I no longer had a balance with them). Verizon's charge off stopped reporting after I disputed.   I never received anything from Midland regarding this debt, but they started to report on the cb's.  So... instead of continuing to fight about the amount (which was my original argument with Verizon) I decided to PFD Midland certified mail and of course received no response.  They are now showing as disputed EXCEPT for Transunion which shows as a collection account.  My question is:  Shouldn' they be reporting as the account holder now and not as a collection since they own the debt now?  Do you think it would make  a difference which way it's reported?  BTW I am still working on PFD and I am thinking of calling them to follow up with an offer to overnite funds.

Thanks for any responses!

A CA always reports the same (collections)   What is the DOFD/DOLA and if it is a Cell phone the SOL is 2 years from DOFD!!!

Always DV a CA before sending a PFD!!!!   It looks as though they might be handling this as a dispute or DV.

Re: Midland reporting question

does that mean if a CA picks up an account from Verizon, they can only try to collect (legally) for 2 years from DOFD??? that would be fantastic news for me!

i'm off to tell Midland to go fly a kite! Smiley Very Happy
