Well it was still a factually accurate statement 20,000 k at any bank is best....I will never do best though, I'm afraid. I would be thrilled to have a 1000 k possibility, but afraid that is out of reach for me as well.

Re: New

CC spending so far this month. Both paid down to $0 balance.

Cap1- $350 since 8/17.
Disc it- $335 since 8/20

I'm using both cards pretty much daily instead of my check card. It's hard on the Disc It since the $200 limit is so low. I find myself waiting for payments to clear before using it again. I could throw more secured money on it to make it easier but I'm going to hold off on that for now.

The Self Lender is still showing a $5 balance on my reports. It should report $0 soon. No charge in score for paying it down yet. I expect a drop when it does.

Re: New

@Anonymous  I know the feeling, low limit cards are annoying because you have to make several payments during the month to make it usable. It's worth it for Discover because of the first year match. The good thing is that Discover's secured card graduates pretty quickly (7-8 months). Usually but not always there is a cli upon graduation to 2k. There is also a spend analyzer so you can see which category most of your spend is going to.

Any progress on the medical collections?

Re: New

No noticeable collection progress as of late. I've already set back enough money to pay all the collections in full. Pay for removal at the lowest agreeable price is the goal.

I have 3 collections that are less than $100. Is it true that these don't factor into my fico scores? I'm going pay regardless because the mortgage lenders will require it from my understanding.

Re: New

@Anonymous Thats a wise move.

It's true, Fico 8 ignores nuisance collections less than $100. Its a good idea to pay them anyways because of the reason you stated. Don't get me wrong some may be willing to overlook it, but why take the chance if you can afford to take care of it.

Keep us posted.

Re: New

Credit journey is coming along nicely. Still working on handling the collections and maximizing CC usage.

This is how much I've been using my CC each month and paying off in full. Hoping to get A CLI on them soon.

Capital One- $1,600 / $1,500 Limit

Disc It- $700 / $200 Limit

I wasn't planning on adding a new card but but I got a pre-approval from Cap 1 on their Savor Card. Better rewards than my Quiksiver and is a step up in my opinion. I have $5000 in my Cap 1 savings account which might have been a factor in me receiving the offer. I was only approved for $750 but I'll take it.

Now that I have 3 CC's I can do a real AZEO!

Re: New

First purchase on my Savor today. (Fill up on gas). I did want to clarify that I got the Savor One card, not the Savor. No annual free, 3% cash back on dining and entertainment, 2% on Grocery and 1% on everything else. $750 CL.

I was denied a CLI on my Quicksilver on June 2nd. I understood on that one. Reasons given-  Monthly payment too low and recent use of credit limit too high. I was at 90% utilization.

I was denied again October 4th. Reason given was- Recent use of this account existing credit limit has been too low. I didn't understand this one. I've went over my $1,500 limit and paid down my balance to zero each month. A little frustrating to say the least.

I'm going to try again in another 90 days.

I'm on month 3 of having my Discover it Secured. I'm spending $500-700 and paying it down to zero the last 2 months. Hoping to get that $2,000 Unsecured CLI in 5 more moths. Fingers crossed!

Re: New

The first month of your Discover charges is slow to post fist pending charge to about 7 days! and slow to show paid. I tried to uyilize mine as much as possible and pay full amount. Before closing date it did speed up the process. I charged and paid in full 3 times and then left a $5 balance reporte on first staement.

The second month most charges posted more quickley and payments also posted faster than the first month. My second statement posted at ZERO balance.

Also after the first 30-45 days you can change your %rewards to the 5% catagory if you want but you have to call them, they will tell you when you can opt in.

After I got my discover secured I kept checking the pre-qual for Capital One. At first I just qualified for the Secured. So I waited and checked again. I then qualified for the Platinum or Quick Silver One rewards. 2 months after recieving my Discover it Secured card. I chose the platinum because it had no AF. And from reading these forums these are the starter cards that the can be upgraded later. So I will upgrad to the Quick Silver with NO AF later.

I never did opt for the Indigo or Open Sky due to the high AF. I waited it out a bit and I'm glad I did. Because now I have 2 credit cards with no annual fee (AF).

Re: New

Hello all!

Disc prompted me to confirm my address on the app yesterday. I hope that's a sign I'll graduate in a month or so. My usage hasn't been that high the last month or two.

Both my Cap 1 cards have been over 2k usage each the last couple months. Oct 6th I was denied a CLI on my Quicksilver with the reason being usage too low. I'm trying again at the 90 day mark.
