I checked my TU report and my score had dropped dramatically from 658 to 587.....I checked my report and found that a company called Santander Consumer USA did an inquiry on my TU credit report on 12/05/09 and then placed a collection in the account area of my report for a car that I had attempted to purchase in 2/2000. The problem is that I did purchase a vehicle from Drive Time during that period, but 2 weeks later I lost my job and I called Drive Time and asked if I could return the car since the paper work hadn't been processed entirely and they said yes. So I returned the vehicle. Now almost 10 years later, they are showing up on my reports as Santander Consumer USA stating that I owe them for this vehicle. Another thing is that my house burned down in 11/2006 and I do not have paper work at all. Only a fire report that shows my house was completely burned.
This is what is showing on my TU credit report:
Status as of Nov, 2009
Date opened Feb, 2000
Date of last activity Not Reported
Date paid out Not Reported
Date closed Nov, 2009
Account number XXXXXXXXXXXXX1000
Loan type Automobile
Credit limit Not Reported
Largest past balance $9,347

Scheduled payment amount $0
they are terrible! i have a current car note with them because when my credit was a lot worse than now i needed a car and had to take the loan. i wish you the best but they are absolutely horrible and pretty much refuse to work with you on anything at all.

Do you think this would be considered reaging, since they are using new dates?
Most definately!!!!
Just did a little homework and found out that Santander USA owns GE Financial, HSBC Auto Finance, and Triad Financial Corp.
In my case it's not Drive Time (whom I originally thought reaged my account) It's Santander USA reporting for Triad Financial, but strangely the inquiry that was placed on my CR was from Drive Time. I applied for GE Money CC on 12/05/09 and instead of the inquiry from GE, I got an inquiry from Drive Time! .........This is getting weird!

I have a Lowes card, Care Credit & another old closed card thru GEMB. What was the cardyou apped for??
I applied for this CC.....It's GE Money Mastercard and yes GE owns Drive Time also!!
What really sucks is that Midland and Rickenbacker Collections were deleted today on my TU report. And now my only collection reporting on TU is this Santander USA fiasco. I did dispute it on the basis of CRTP >7.5 years, so hopefully it will work. Now waiting and hoping that EX follows suit with the same deletions as TU. Then I will be collection free, if I can get rid of Santander USA. I hate waiting....
