It appears I have 2 collection agencies reporting the same debt. I have NCO and AFNI reporting the same debt. Both say my DOLA is Jan. 07.
NCO says OC At T Formerly Cingular ~ DOLA Jan. 07' ~ Balance $134
AFNI says OC At T Formerly Bellsouth ~ DOLA Jan. 07' ~ Balance $133
What should I do?
Have you heard from either of them?
Can you PIF?
Look at your reports and look at reported/updated date. Who reported/updated last?

I didn't think they could report unless they contacted you first and/or you didn't respond to dispute the charge. Also they shouldn't be able to BOTH report under different names like this, this is the case of unethical collections run amuk. Anyway, do what sidewinder says and send them a letter and say what the heck and see where it takes you.
I haven't heard from either of them, that I can remember anyway. Both are currently being reported. I can PIF, but not to both of them.

I would say before you do that, find out what it is and if its legit and I would contact BOTH of them. But that's just me.
I understand they are both currently reporting, but what is the last updated/reported date for each entry?
I would send both of them a DV CMRRR. Keep it short and simple, see the link below.

Agreed, don't just pay if off, first hit them up and as sidewinder said, KISS (my emphasis), keep it simple, don't give them anything more than bare minimum to locate and respond. If they don't respond in time, you should even be able to get it removed.
