So recently I just paid down a Chase card to a $0 balance.. and they updated the balance with the credit bureaus within 1 day.. weeks before the statement cuts and they normally report to the CBs
Apparently this is something that some CC companies do when an account is paid to $0
I dont think AMEX or Capital One follow this practice..
Does anyone have any experience with this.. Citinbank or any other companies do the same?
You can ask for a mid cycle update from Discover, if you have paid that account down and want the new balance reflected on your CRs.

^^^This, discover is good about fullfiling these kind of request. Once in a while I have experienced the update only being pushed through on EX.
@coolandcalm specifically, I am only familiar with Chase doing this with their Freedom line of cards. I do do not recall if this also occurs when paying down the Sapphire to $0. ( Personally I'd rather not play around with the Sapphire due to it higher % rate, it just make me feel uncomfortable and I think about the cost of that eating away at the value of the rewards earned.)
Regularly I find that using Discover or Chase as my AZEO car, when carrying a large balance, is easy to work with due to the predictability of when they could report.
Only auto update when paid to zip that I am aware of is Chase. As stated some others will do mid cycle updates but you need to ask for them.
Amex does not do it automatically, but they will do it if you ask.
I assume chase does auto mid-cycle updates with all of their cards. they recently did it for my old Slate and Amazon Visa.
