a versizon mess

hi
ok ive been having problems with palisade collection..heres the story......i used be a customer of versizon.i never paid my bills with a credit card only with cash or money order.ok i found out on my
bill that verizon was ripping me off for a bogus charge of 70.00 that went to nothing and i stupidly
paid it.i called them and we did a charge by charge walk though and i discovered this 70.00 was not
on their copy of the bill only mine.i was with them 4 years and this is how they say thank you....try and
rip me off.then i decieded to go with atand t so i needed to get rid of verzion before i could do this.so i
called verszion and told them to cancel my account.they told me  itll be off in 4 days.4 days went by and i was still with them.called them again and they said itll be off in 4 days.4 days went by and i was still with them.i sent them a letter and the same results as before.so i stopped paying the bills but they
would not stop the service.they kept it on 4 6 months with me not paying the bill.it was over a thousand dollars when they finally shut the account down.they told me that i would have to pay back all that money before they would reinstate me again.nuts to that!!they contacted palasade collection
and they (versizon)wants 165.00 to close the account.i did everything i was supposed to do and this
was the result.i will not pay them anything anymoreand they keep calling me 4 the money.thats my story.

Re: a versizon mess

WOW..that really sucks!!....that sound like something that need to be taken to court...did you send that letter to them via certified mail?..do you still have a copy of it?....i hope so because you might need proof that they actually received that letter..so you may have to sue them...i can understand the fee for breaking your contract but to force you to go months with their service and have to pay them for it after requesting a disconnection is pretty ridiculous...i would sue them!!
