I sent enhanced recovery a debt validation email yeterday and they responded by saying they were unable to locate my account and asked if I would provide them with more information to help them find it...maybe a dumb question.. but should I send them a picture of the report on my credit or should i just ask that they send me a letter to delete it (since they claim they cant find it based on the last 4 of the account number, name, and full address) that i can send to the credit reporting agencies... sorry if this is stupid.........
I'd wait to see what a more knowledgeable member says, but what kind of info did they ask for? I wouldn't respond quite yet. They should be able to find it having the last 4 digits of the account listed on your report and your name, I would think.
But see what someone else, says, too. I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject.

If you sent a DV and you gave them your name and they came back with this I would not give them another piece of info its their job to locate and validate the debt, I would also respond with a demand for deletion from your CRs since they cannot locate any current account, if they refuse I would dispute it with the CRAs as they obviously do not have current authorization to collect on behalf of the OC.
very helpful thank you!
thank you!!
I see this as a common tactic by the CAs to phish for information they don't have. They'll say send us your full name, current address, SSN, signature,, and all that so they can "locate" your account. Do not send them anything they don't have.
I sent them an email stating that due to them not being able to locate my account with sufficient information ( first and last name , address and last 4 of account number) that they take it off of my credit report and also send me a letter stating his would be done and this is the response I received.
Dear Jordan,
In an effort to assist you in resolving this matter we will need some additional information from you. What is the amount listed on your credit report in reference to Afni? Is there a partial account number? What stated do you reside in?
How do I respond to this??
Dispute it with Credit Bureus.
In your original email, did you provide them with your name and the partial account number? Don't give them anymore info than they already have. I would respond with saying that they have the info they need, stating your name and the partial account number, and since they cannot validate, I would request again, that they delete.
That's my personal opinion anyways... Someone like gdale or shogun might have better suggestions though ![]()

Respond with your name and the partial account #. Nothing else is needed.
