Call from Credit Watch Collection Service

I just got a call from Credit Watch Collection.   Here's the background -  in Dec 2001 I went to the emergency room at a local hospital.  Paid my deductible and thought everything was fine.   In 2007 I received a bill from a collection agency for $30 (it's broken up into two amounts - $20 for one and $10 for the other for whatever reason).  I called them up and told them I had no idea what they were talking about.  It was for the same hospital but I didn't owe anything.    Didn't hear anything else from them.  Then today I get a call from a different collection agency 'Credit Watch Collection' asking about this same thing.   I want to tell them to kiss off but want to make sure they can't ding my credit.  I'm in Georgia.  Since it's been over 7 years can they do anything?

Re: Call from Credit Watch Collection Service

They can only report up untill 7 years from the date of service!!!  As to SOL  you need to check state law but IMO the amount is way too small to try to file suit.  Before Dec.2008 would be the only time that it could report.

OK - that's what I thought also.   They are idiots.  The last CA that called told me that they amounts were too small to report to the credit bureaus.
