I do this with Susan G Komen. That too, is personal to me. My bestfriend since we were 14,  was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 years ago. She fought a good fight, but lost her battle in March of this year. Smiley Sad

This is my favorite picture from her photo shoot for Susan G Komen.

What a beautiful picture.

OMG!!!  That is so beautiful.  I lost my mom in 1987 to breast cancer and I wish that we knew about Cancer Treatment Centers and Susan B. Komen just so we could have had momma a little longer.

God bless you Stef for continuing to support this organization.  You are doing an awesome thing.

Thank you Hearts. So sorry to hear of your Mom.

My friend lived in Dallas, so she was right in the middle of some of the best medical centers available. She told me in Oct 07 that her cancer had spread and they were discontinuing Chemo. I knew then she would maybe live another 6 months. Her last goal, was to see her first grandbaby born. He was due in December and I prayed so hard that He would allow her that. The baby came early, so she got her wish and the Lord answered our prayers.

This is her Christmas photo last year with her new grandson.

We all miss her so....

Thank you too, MsKiwi. All of the pictures from her shoot were beautiful. They did a really good job. It's hard to go wrong with such beautiful people, though.

Re: Almost all of us can help someone else

It is times like these that we should remember that though things may be bad in our lives, we are not struggling for our health and well-being like these brave women and so many others (men, women and children) are doing every second of every day.  Lets pray that the Lord will do miraculous things for them, ease their pain, sustain their lives, give them a new year to see the glory of His power and to have that precious time with their families.  Father, I pray strength to those families that are left behind, especially the children and grandchildren who are most impacted by this loss.  Let them not forget those who have gone on, but let them remember the seeds of love, compassion and sacrifice sown by that loved one who has gone on.  I pray for the spouses of those because the lonliness and heartache can be so unbearable and to have watched them suffer is even the more painful, love on them Lord, surround them with your love and you arms and on those days/nights when talking to a family member or friend just doesn't seem to cut it, you talk to them Father because there is no voice like your voice and no arm to shield and comfort like yours.  In Jesus name, amen.

I can and will be a part of the 700 club this year, because I can do all things through Christ.
