Dear mods: I had no idea where to put this, as it's consumer-oriented, not credit. Move as needed!
Got an e-mail this morning that Amazon is adding a service fee to its Whole Foods deliveries--a WHOPPING $9.99 fee per delivery!
It goes on to hype all the great OTHER benefits I get as a Prime member, blah blah blah....but that doesn't take the sting out of this, especially since WF is always out of, or low on, products I need, so I end up having to place multiple orders within a few days of each other just to get what I wanted. Now, at 10 bucks a pop? I don't know what I'll do. It's been painful enough having to tip multiple times a week, not just WF but through Instacart, too. Not happy....
To put that in perspective, you'd have to spend $200 with your Amazon store card to recoup that. Although I'm not sure if that card works for WF or not.
+1 Recieved it as well
+1 Amazon Fresh/WF is reguarly out of basic items
Very smart by them - They get you hooked, and then raise the price after you don't want to change. To be honest, I'd probably still gladly pay that, as the convenience that their service provides is unreal, and worth it (to me).

I'd agree, except that because WF is *ALWAYS* out of stock, or low on, certain products and I have to order multiple times a week just to get what I want, we're looking at 10 bucks several times a week!
Before the pandemic--I mean LONG before, as in 25-ish years--I always did my grocery shopping online. Well, 99% online and about 1% in-store. Back then, I used Vons, period. They carried everything I wanted, they were rarely out of stock, when they were they made relevant substitutions, their drivers were friendly--and brought everything in! I got to know the handful of rotating drivers who made my deliveries, following their lives (a new child or grandchild born, deciding to go back to school to get a degree, etc.), and chit-chatting while they put everything on the kitchen counters--with the cold stuff nearest the refrigerator. They were wonderful! Polite, prompt, helpful--I mean one even offered to change a light bulb for me once! I had turned the overhead lights on in the kitchen and noticed one bulb had burned out; I pointed to it and said, oh, the bulb's out. It's high up, out of reach. He offered and I accepted.
Then the pandemic hit. All of a sudden everyone and their brother was grocery shopping online. I had to completely revamp how I shop, and I don't like it at all. Now, with this newest insult--and it *is* an insult, because I've had Amazon Prime since its inception--I'm really just not happy. But I also can't go out and buy my own groceries.
