I think this is the place to ask, but what's the best payroll software for a small business? I have 3-5 employees well 2 owners and 2-5 independent contractors. I see a lot of people recommending Gusto and their $100 credit. Any advice? Thx!
Gusto is fantastic for a small business. I did payroll at a small shop and that's what we used. It was easy for the employer to submit payroll, onboarding/offboarding, and manage benefits and leave. As an employee, it was easy to use- getting paystubs, submitting leave, etc. The only reason we changed to ADP is because we needed cost tracking for production and Gusto at the time didn't offer that. Personally, I enjoyed running Gusto than ADP.
I'd recommend Rippling for small businesses. What's so great about Rippling's payroll is that it has automatic compliance, so it ensures your payroll is adhering to all federal, state, and local taxes without you needing to lift a finger. It can easily handle payroll for multi-state and multi-country employees, as well as contractor management since it also has native time tracking that syncs with payroll. Rippling is great for small businesses because it can do so much more than just payroll and also has HR, IT, and expense management software that you can add on when/if you need it. This can help eliminate the need for multiple softwares for each of these functions, saving your business time and money while also running more efficiently. Happy to answer more questions on Rippling bc I work there!
