With the unemployment rate jumping high like it did in 2009. What differance now and before? How can we guard against our scores going down? Will the hospitality business come back? After the corona virus is under control. Will there be shots like the flu shot?
I am old enough to remember when AIDS, Chickenpox, and Polio, etc. was around. I remember talking to someone face to face without social media. My hope that when this is all over that everyone really, really get to know family & friends. Because you do not have contract on life. Thank you for letting share this.
If you are having hardship, the best bet is to contact your creditor and let them know. Maybe there is something they can do to assist.

History has shown that the economy will recover like it always does. It could be weeks, months, or years... this is the best time when a lot of people become millionaires. This is a great time to get closer with your loved ones and create memories.
I don't have any credit problem. I wanted to start a conversation what is going to happen to credit in the next six months. Getting rid of the self-center our lifes are. What of these things you can remove from your life? you can only pick one: remote for TV, social media, microwave, corde

For me all the these you have listed is easy. I have been working overseas in Africa for a year, and I'm pretty much stuck here for an indefinite period. On top of being in Africa I'm in a very remote location, so we only get mail once of a month. I just always need internet not necessarily for social media but for my credit account, stocks, school. Anything else I can literlaly go weeks, months without it and be fine.
I think this is going to be far worse than 2008. There are millions of people whose income ceased overnight, many of which whom were living paycheck to paycheck.
I know folks that were earning 6 figures that were laid off and are already unable to pay April's rent.
Additionally, folks with secure income are thinking twice about spending money. I am lucky enough to be in that boat and was pumping $2k/month into the economy on average . . . restaurants/retail/travel/etc., and that activity instantly ceased overnight. And I'm just one person.
This a global pandemic. That was a financial meltdown. As someone else mentioned, the big difference between now and then is the speed at which peoples lives are being impacted.
If you didn't or couldn't prepare, the last concern should be your credit scores. I'm not close with anyone outside my immediate family, but my parents are. I'd happily trade a score for someone dear to them if it spares them any grief.
The hospitality business will have to come back. There's too many people for it not to re-emerge. What it looks like, could be completely different.
I hope governments and citizens alike put more emphasis on proper planning and safety both financial and health related going forward. Litterly watching people's lives turned upside down is going to change society and our economy. At least until this falls back out of public memory.
To address your follow up post, I don't think our relationship with technology is going to change. At all.

This. I've long suspected that we were/are in need of a better screening process for inbound travelers to any Country, it's far to easy to come and go spreading whatever. So I feel this crises will bring about new security measures similar to what 9/11 did.
Not that there is really any way to screen a person for viruses, but I'm sure it won't stop them from trying to implement a procedure of some sort.

Perhaps the govt can figure out areas of the world where suspicions are high for new illnesses and restrict traffic to and from that area. The world will change as a result of coronavirus......it has to. Restricting travel has to go beyond social issues and this pandemic will ensure that health risk will take precedent . We cannot object to restrictions based on country of origins as we have so vehemently been doing. If there are signs of and endemic in Europe, keep'em out, if there are signs of and endemic in Russia, keep'em out, if there are signs of an endemic in Iraq, keep'em out....etc

This is a dangerous and slippery slope. What constitutes an epidemic? Who decides?
I (and many others like me) will continue to object to restrictions based on country of origin.
Common-sense screenings like is done for Ebola are fine. Quarantines for arriving passengers when needed are fine. Closing the door entirely in the name of paranoia and fear is not. Living in fear and making laws based on that fear is a recipe for disaster.
