The chant for Knoxville (and elsewhere) driving: Close your eyes and go! Close your eyes and go!
Where have you seen traffic in knoxville? I've been looking for it, as I'm curious what it's all about.
j/k, but it's nothing compared to, say, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, etc. Although probably not fair comparison, as those cities are 10 times bigger.

Hauling, since you live in Tennessee, perhaps you can explain this to me.
On I-40, the rest stops have vending machines for soda, chips, candy, etc...but NOT A ONE FOR COFFEE! That's a -1 for Tennessee.
The attendant for the rest area where I'd stopped had a coffee maker in his office, and graciously made me a great cup of coffee from his own stash. That's a +3 for Tennessee!
Maybe I just answered my own question. If that coffee vending machine had been available to me, I might not have experienced the kindness and generosity of the fine people of that state.
Final tally is: Tennessee +2 (at least!)

Cedar Bluff off-ramp from I-40, either eastbound or westbound? Trying to get on to Alcoa ("I'll-kill-ya") Highway southbound from John Sevier 'round about 5:10 pm?
It's true, there's not a lot of gridlock in Knoxville, other than when they're blowing up the freeway again, but intersections get awfully exciting at times.
eta: Neyland Stadium/ Thompson-Boling Arena on game days back when we had teams with above-.500 records. Although I'm liking CCM.

Aww, that's sweet!
But, but... coffee from a vending machine? Honey, we do try to protect people from their own foolishness. Sometimes, anyway.

Noted!
I just really needed coffee...even if it was made with used grounds, and filtered through an old sock!
(Fortunately, this attendant had pity on me, and also knew his coffee!)

That's true. Ikillya Highway is bad anywhere. Turning left from Topside onto 129 is a pain, too.
Also, the crossover at the 640WB merge with 40W to the Papermill exit is terrible. 40W gets to a standstill at that one spot that backs up all the way to downtown, but once you get past the crossover, it's smooth sailing(ish) from there.
The jury is still out on CCM for me. I do know that next season is going to be rough without Scotty, Tobias, Chris Jones or Kevin Ware. Hopefully the rest of our vastly disappointing talent can step up and improve their game! GBO
Oops, forgot what forum I was on for a sec
Pet Peeve....you call tech support for a disfuntional phone line and they put you through a zillion computerized questions, 90% of which don't even pertain to you. And on top of that you finally get a live person after shouting "all I want is a real person!" a hundred times into the computer's ears and that person asks you a zillion questions, 90% of which don't even pertain to you.

lol
govolsextra will give you an appreciation for the myFICO forums. I've never seen so many sock puppets and trolls. Volnation isn't bad, other than the usual testosterone poisoning.
Cheer up, there has to be somebody on the team who realizes that this is his big chance, and finally steps up and plays.

It bothers me that Memorial Day is often reduced to furniture and auto sales events instead of focusing on it's true meaning.
