Anyone know if Verizon negotiates their prices with Fios?
Months ago I asked them a question about my slow DVR box, and I recall them trying to lock me into 2 years at the current price I was receiving. I ignored it then, but now my bill lost its $30 in discounts it had for the past 3 years. I was kinda banking on them extending the discounts for another year like they had previously done on their own.
Basically, i'm wondering if they will negotiate and lock me into my previous bill price (or better). I just received a mailer from Comcast that, as far as I can tell, is comparable to the package I'm already getting from Verizon and is cheaper than my Verizon bill before it went up. So there is at least that that I can bring up in a conversation with them.
I tried to get in on a promotional discount for upgraded service for new subscriber -- and was a customer for less than 24 hours -- and was told to pound sand. The moment the light turned on I was no longer a new subscriber and none of the promotional rates applied to me.
With that level of rigidity, I'd be surprised if they were very willing to negotiate.
Absolutely they will, and I do it for multiple business accounts all the time. While they won't typically negotiate with you at all when you have an active contract, once it expires they can have very strong retention offers. You'll need to call though and every region will have different offers (for example, here in Boston it can cost a LOT more to get speeds slower than Gigabit than it does for Gigabit - and no consumer service is touching their upload speeds); the more you are willing to bundle, the higher savings they can offer.
Thanks peeps for the responses. I might delay this task until next Monday when I have the day off. I don't anticipate it being frustrating but we'll see how it goes!
