Re: What's in your wallet?

I'm new to the whole points and cashback game.

I carry the AMEX BCE, SOuthwest Chase, and Discover. I have the tape cassette look on the Discover It and sometimes I use it to spark a comment at a restaurant.

The BCE is the daily driver.

I leave my awesomely amazing $400 limit HSBC-converted to Capital One Discover Network card at home

Experian: 729 Equifax: 740 Transunion: 732
Capital One Mastercard: $0.4K, Capital One Quicksilver: $5K, Chase Southwest Premier: $7.5K, Amex Blue Cash Everyday: $24.9K, Discover It: $9.4K, Chase Sapphire Preferred: $16.9K, Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve: $7.7K, Arrival+ BarclayCard MC WE: $7.5K

Re: What's in your wallet?

I carry a very small wallet with just 4 slots so at the moment I carry my ID, Amex Business Platinum for any business purchases, Amex SPG for everything (to meet $5k min spend) and Barclays Arrival + for places Amex isn't accepted. Oh, and my Chase Freedom sits in the glovebox of my car for 5x gas and emergencies. Moving forward I'm going to stick with this SPG/Arrival combo and put the bulk of my spending through the SPG to save for a dream vacation.

Quicksilver 51k | Discover It $45k | Bonvoy Business $38k | Lowe's $35k | Costco $33.5k | SWACU $30k | Ink Preferred $28k | USAA Rewards $25k | Ink Cash $22.5k | Ink Preferred $22k | Amex Blue Business Plus $17k | Freedom Flex $16k | Freedom $14k | CSR $10k | Amazon Store $10k | Amazon Business $3k | REI $3k

Re: What's in your wallet?

Right now I am trying to meet the Spend requirement for the Marriott Premier card, so I'm using that as much as I can. But usually, this is what I carry:

Costco True Earnings Amex: this is my go-to card. You can't beat 3% cashback on Costco gas! Also a pretty good card for 2% back at restaurants.

Discover IT: For rotating categories - I expect to be using it a lot in the next quarter. Also Discover's online mall is the best I have seen.

HRC branded BankAmericard Cash Rewards: For when I have to use non-Costco gas stations that don't accept Amex, and for a little grocery shopping.

Capital One QS: Other/incidental purchases not fitting into a category spend.

I have other cards that I use as it benefits me. Last week I picked up some concert tickets with Citi Preferred seats, and used my Citi Dividend for the first set of 5 and Diamond Preferred for the second set of 2 - I had to call DP concierge to get the two sets of tickets to be close by (they called Ticketmaster on my behalf and made it happen). I use the Chase Amazon Visa when I shop on Amazon, but that is increasingly rare these days after I dropped my Amazon Prime membership (due to them hiking the price) and went with Shoprunner, a cool benefit of my Amex.
