So I was young and dumb and took out lots of student loans.
My loans have been in garnishment for so long they have fell off my CRA's.
I finally have my credit back on track and was thinking about rehabbing my school loans since they finally started sending papers about the loans.
I have about 40k in school loans that started at about 75k many years ago. They garnish anywhere between 550 to 650 a month already and they take our Federal taxes if we have any left over. I never rehabbed or consolidated my loans.
My question is If I Rehab my loans will they drop back onto my CRA's? I worry about this because I finally have my credit back on track.
This is embarrassing for me since everything else is bought and paid for. We have one car loan and own our house.
Thank you for your thoughts and ideas.
I've often thought about getting a loan to pay them off but would like the payments to be more bearable.
No, the rehab won't put them back on your credit report until you actually complete the process. Then you'll get a new, clean tradeline for the rehab'd loan.
Hey wants you complete your rehab program the default status will never show up at all. It is completely removed your credit report.
