Re: 50+ Point jump to ~800 from one late aging off!

Thanks for all the comments, glad others enjoyed the data point. I’ve just done several other credit changes that have not yet hit my report so it will be interesting to see my final new score in a month or so when all finally processes. Owe nothing on cards, do the standard of letting one card a month report something and use cards for every single purchase.

I have learned so much during this time of credit fixing and I’m so glad I did. Feels good to be informed and or in control of all of this to an extent.

I’ve helped many other people understand credit scores and how they work, it’s amazing the misconceptions and or general lack of knowledge people have. It’s too important to not pay attention to.

Sweet.  A lone major baddie falling off can impact scores 60-80 points often, so I'd say that 50 points was a bit on the light end honestly.  50 points is a bit closer to what is expected when an aged minor falls off, which tends to average around 40 points.  Congrats on going clean... it's a great feeling!

Would you say the same about a old 30 day late? or multiple 30 days lates? or this is primarely for 90/120 days late?

BTW, OP great job! The feeling must be awesome. Congrats!

+50 pts is awesome.  Congrats OP.

@Boisevert - I received 50 pts on TU when my last 6+yr old 30 day was removed. 37 on EQ and 24 on EX.  I think the key is "lone" baddie.  If there are multiple baddies and only one falls off I don't believe you'll see much of a gain, if any.  But of course profiles vary.  I have an aged credit file and 12 accts at the time this occurred.

Re: 50+ Point jump to ~800 from one late aging off!

Thank so much everyone, since my original post I have continued to closely monitor my credit and I've had several changes in my profile, suddenly decided to sell my home and move halfway across the United States, and am closing on a new home in a few weeks actually.

My scores have stayed solid, I've settled in the 804-819 FICO range depending on which companies score I'm getting. Mortgage score was 810. Man those scores are amazing to me! I truly hope that everyone here working on their score gets to their goal, it's an amazing feeling and everyone needs to experience it!

One other score note, couple of months back I let one Chase card report for the month. The bill posted and I paid the card off a few days after posting not thinking about it. Chase did a mid month update and suddenly I showed 0 percent usage on any cards at all. That resulted in a 24 point drop to my score. 805 to 781 at Experian. Just another note on how little things can affect the score a decent amount!

Thanks again all, this forum has truly great people!
