74 point drop- no reason

I have the 3 Fico scorewatch and my equifax says that it dropped 74 points because one of my cc's balances was reduced by 44% (244 dollars). No other alerts or changes that would warrant this. Anyone else seeing similar/have seen? As I am thinking this must be a bug/issue. Therefore will correct it self

I hope thats just a bug. How long do you have until the next three-bureau full report? When did this appear? If just in the last day or so, maybe wait to see if it corrects itself in the next week or two, as something else comes on your report with an update to trigger a recalculation.

Re: 74 point drop- no reason

Appeared yesterday. My scores have been 730-770 across the board. next free reports are almost a year away. I might call customer service, as this seems strange

Re: 74 point drop- no reason

...the 3B reporting software remains buggy imnsho ...the reasons given for score changes often appear to be misleading

...however, the score calcs do appear to be functional so a 74 point drop would be a major concern

...that large a hit is usually something serious like a new CA hitting ...I'd pull my EQ and go over it with a fine tooth comb

...if you can't find anything to justify the hit, dispute it with myFico

...the immediate problem is that your CCs often make SPs on your CR and that large a change may flag a recon of your CLs

Re: 74 point drop- no reason

yea, one account was added and reported weeks ago. I spoke to customer service, and was given a free update (promocode) to compare as they also found it strange. I am looking at utilization which is currerntly at 17%, been like that for a year or so. (0% promo). the negatives I have are:

You have a short credit history.(1 year) - no change

You've made heavy use of your available revolving credit. (17%) a small drop

You have too many credit cards carrying balances. (hard for me to compare, but looks to be about the same)

The amount owed on your revolving accounts is too high. (can't compare)

Since I have the 3 in one fico, it's hard to compare with a standalone eq, but as far as I can see: It could be that I have reached a certian magic number with the latter two...

E.g I charged 50 dollars to one more cc, or I reached a magic sum of total balances. That said, all of this reported weeks ago - it was no change until the 42% drop in account balance on my discover card. TU and EX no change seen - at least as of yet.

Re: 74 point drop- no reason

I have had that happen when I let $5 report, and 0 out a 50 charge. Only on eq. When gardening, you can play around like this, (have score watch, not the 3b product).

Something else could have hit reports, or you could have been rebucketed (new score card). 3 to 6 months will be fine, presuming no hidden baddies (I would get a report, or start dispute, with eq only, just to be sure). I've been using the start dispute with old report number from eq to watch my baddies dissolve, and keep up on soft pulls.
