A few high-level DPs from Experian, if this would be helpful

Folks,

I'm pasting today's data (below) from my Experian subscription, in the hopes that his illustration might prove valuable to anyone in further trying to understand how the FICO scores work, in particular, the impact of a collections account on FICO scores.  You'll note the annoying lack of consistency across CRAs (this month, it's not too bad -- usually the dollars and number of accounts reporting varies wildly -- and not just due to the reporting calendars of my creditors).  Further, Experian doesn't provide the total number of accounts, as does Credit Karma, for example.

Note the effect of one, very old medical collection on the TU FICO 8 score.

Yes the collections is holding your score down on EX. Weird part is number of accounts with balances. Do you have some creditors that only report to 1 CRA? 3 account difference from EX and TU is odd. Who is the collections with? Might be one that PFD. Otherwise not seeing anything that sticks out.

Agree, it is weird that the total $ balance is uniform across the CRAs but the number of accounts with balances varies all over the place (and never seems correct, anyhow).

That single collection account had recently dropped off EX and EQ but stubbornly clings to TU and clobbers that FICO score.  What is PFD? -- not familiar with that acronym.

Which of the other, minor factors would you think likely responsible for the discrepancey between EX and EQ on FICO 8?

The collections is hurting. It hasnt fallen off yet like the others. PFD=pay for delete. But it looks like it aged off as you described. Still the accounts with balances is whacky. Are you able to post all your accounts and then next to it which CRA its on?
