Re: AAoA Rebound Time

There is a point shift at just about every years difference, at least in the lower numbers: 0 -> 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

I don't know about that, could be, though. It's hard to tell with the lower numbers, because there is generally a lot going on with reports in those early stages.

Generally, we've figured 1 year, 2, 5, 8, 12-13?, 18-ish?

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

I was definitely effected when I went from AAoA 5+ to 4 and I don't really want to experiment with 3. I'll let you know what happens when I transition back from 4 to 5 in a few months. I don't think I've made 8 since I've been paying such close attention to FICO. I hope to get some brownie points as I move back from 5 to 6 and 7, but don't really expect them.

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

Yeah, dropping below 5 is a killer.

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

My EQ will go from 2 to 3 November. If I pull I will post the new score. When they carpet bombed my report and sent me from 3.5 to 2.5 I did not lose any points. My report is not clean so it might not be a fair test. I'll see.

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

It will be a good "dirty bucket" test. I'm in a dirty bucket on EQ and EX also. It could actually mean more then.

Not a direct comparison but...my TU is 737 4 year AAofA 14 years oldest. EQ is 698 2 year AAofA 8 years oldest. No inqs. either report.

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

Yikes.  Just tried my geek hat on – it still fits!!!  This undoubtedly has something to do with spending the morning in the dentist chair……..

Myfico 2/09/09 EQ report has the following on the positive side of my scale:

You have a long account history.

Oldest Account: 27y 7m     AAofA: 10 y

Myfico 2/25/09 EQ report has the following on the negative side of my scale:

You have a short account history.

Oldest Account: 27y 7m     AAofA: 10 y

The difference?  I opened one new account.  The AA of my open accounts dropped from 5.11 years on 2/9/09 to 3.9 years on 2/25/09.  (Yeah – I spent fifteen minutes and did the math - it was bugging me.)  My oldest account and my AAofA continue to reside in the realm of High Achievers, but my “Short Account History” maintains residence on the dark side of the scale.  I assume it will stay there until the AA of my open accounts hits that certain magic FICO spot – maybe it's at 4 or 5 years?  They are evidently tracking it.

Re: AAoA Rebound Time

I think it's more likely that you are being hit for simply the presence of a new account, rather than its effect on your AAoA of open accounts, which is something I've never seen mentioned or tracked. You're briefly in the new account category, and I think that they just displayed the wrong info (the longest history and the AAoA.) Be sure to check again in six months or so and see if it switches back over to the positive side.

Nice work getting through the dental work. All I'm able to do in the chair is practice my Lamaze breathing from over 20 years ago. Smiley Tongue
