I have a couple of closed credit card accounts that I am still paying balances on, that do not appear in any of my credit reports. Does this help my score? ie. my debt to credit ratio is lower. If I settle them for a portion of the balance will they appear on my reports later?
Also I have an EQ of 702 but TU & EX 672. I am looking to apply for a car loan soon and curious which score(s) will likely be reviewed. There are no discrepancies in my reports so I don't understand the 30 point difference
Thanks for the help
If it does not appear in your CR, then it is invisible to FICO scoring. Both the CL and its unpaid balance dont contribute to your FICO now, if the account is not in your credit file, Were the acciounts deleted, or just closed?
If it is not in your credit file, then it is obviously not incuded in calculation of your % util, your AAoA, or your credit mix iin any FICO scoring,
When were these accounts closed?:
Why did the OC delete them? Kinda puzzling,,,,,,,
As far as I know the accounts were closed. One was transfered within Citibank (this account is listed as a closed account) to another account but was closed years ago due to inactivity, (I was paying off the balance with a low APR). The other was with Advanta and they closed all of their accounts. I looked at CR from a year ago and neither was on those as well.
Can I settle these accounts without a ding on my credit report.
