Authorized User Dropping Off

What a mess.

I was about to start my journey into buying my own home when I pulled my credit.  646 - 19k in revolving credit.  My first thought - not possible.  I have no student loans, my car is paid off, and out of   I took a look at the credit cards attached to my name, and it looks like my mother listed me as an authorized user on 3 new, maxed out credit cards.  A fourth I knew about, but she had recently maxed that one out as well, leaving me with almost 17k more debt than I thought I had.

I called the credit card companies and (after some struggle) had myself removed.  As it is the end of the month, (and hopefully billing cycle) when should I expect changes in my credit report? The cards were citi bank (x2), discover, and chase.

Re: Authorized User Dropping Off

It's a YMMV-thing. Certainly maxed out CCs hurt. But the age of those accounts would factor in too as well as mix. If you have a good mix of credit outside of these CCs, then no worries there. If these were younger than your average age of accounts then bonus. If both scenarios hold true, and if your outside utilization on your other CCs is less than the util facotring in these cards, then there's a positive upside of removing them. I've only removed one AU account and it was gone within 7-10 days and was independent of the statement date (also Citi).
