Okay, I'm done with Credit Check Total. I haven't pulled a report from there in months because all of a sudden you have to speak to someone to cancel. I tried canceling the other day and they said I'd be on hold 20 minutes. I called today (day 7, so I have to do it) and my hold time is estimated to be 30 minutes. Ugh.

Indeed.  I'm on hold now.  Estimated time is over 60 minutes.  If you value your time at all, don't subscribe to this service, folks.

Re: CCT

Of course I signed up Dec 22 days ago. Wanted to cancel on Friday, Dec 29 and they were closed for the holidays. I contacted AMEX and had them block CCT so my payment wouldn't renew on Dec 30. Got notification on Dec 31 that my payment info needed to be updated. On hold for 20 mins this morning but needed to hang up for a meeting. Will send email today and try to call again tomorrow.

What a joke. But Kudoes to any business that convinces you to sign up, and bills you every month and makes it near impossible to cancel, that is capitalism at its finest, lol.

Thanks to AMEX for blocking them.

Or, you can just cancel via email like I posted on the previous page.

I'm not sure why everyone is continuing to torture themselves with 30-60 minute or whatever hold times when you can use email which will take you 45 seconds?  Even if it wasn't possible to cancel via email and you had to deal with the hold time, for 50 cents per 3B report/score pull it's really a small price to pay for an otherwise great service.  But, you can cancel via email, so that point is moot.

Re: CCT

I have sent three emails since 12/28 to cancel and my membership still hasn't been cancelled!

I tried calling and the wait time is over 1.5 hours.

I also was getting about 5 emails a day about my password change request (never asked to change my password).  They were coming at all hours as well.

It doesn't matter.  Your original email is time-stamped with when you requested to cancel your trial.  They are just backed up and bogged down, as evidenced by their phone wait times.  It takes them a while to get to email too.  They will cancel your trial though and if it goes too long (past your 7 days) they'll promptly refund the CC charge for a full membership.

I get about 10 of those password change request emails all hours of the day following both a trial membership and a membership cancellation.  I have no idea what it is about and when I asked CS they seemed clueless.  It is what it is.

Re: CCT

Called in to cancel on Jan 2 around 10:20pm eastern time, was quoted a wait time of over an hour, so just put phone on speaker and went about my own business. Call went through after about 35 minutes, CSR was very pleasant and cancelled without a hitch. She also informed me CCT will be discontinued soon (apparently it's being rolled/merged into CreditWorks???), and helpfully suggested FreeCreditScore.com if I wanted something a free service.

I've read about CCT being discontinued for several months now.  I'll believe it when I see it.  It will definitely be unfortunate if/when it does go away though, as it's a very unique and useful product.

Why are you torturing yourself with phone hold times when it has been said several times that you can cancel via email in a matter of moments?  I really can't figure out why I keep reading the same thing again and again regarding this topic!
