Well, if it's "worth" paying 12x more money for less product just to save a few minutes to cancel it, your time is extremely valuable.

Re: CCT

Honestly, the only annoying part about the long wait time is I have to pay a bit of extra attention so it doesn't slip by me when the call finally goes through. I put my phone on speaker and then go about my usual routine so it really isn't too bad for me.

I sent an email requesting cancellation before the free trial was up.  They ignorned it and charged me anyway.  So you're OK with that?  Does that make me "entitled"?   I guess honesty has no value in your world.  Pathetic.

And that's exactly why I had AMEX block CCT. No $ for them.

Re: CCT

Just an FYI.

You can now cancel any Experian Credit Monitoring product automatically by calling the Customer Support number for the specific product and following the phone prompts for cancellation.  There's no longer a wait time to speak with a CSR.  The system will ask for your Social Security number, zip code, and numeric portion of your mailing address and will confirm your cancellation with a transaction number.

Datapoints

12/29/2017 - Cancelled an Experian IdentityWorks Premium account that I had mistakenly signed up for by using the phone system (855-962-6943).  I was later sent an e-mail confirming that the account had been downgraded to the Basic version.

1/4/2018 - Cancelled a CCT trial by calling 866-506-7894 and following the prompts but I haven't yet received a confirmation email.  The system gives you a confirmation number but it was said so quickly I wasnt able to record it.  The option to repeat the transaction number exists but doesn't work.  When I pressed 2 to repeat the transaction number the call just disconnected.

Re: CCT

On 01/04/2018, I called at 11:17AM CST and was on hold for a representative for over an hour and 45 minutes after entering my SSN, DOB, and numeric portion of address.

I had the full CCT membership not the trial if that helps!

Re: CCT

Hmmm...once you enter your identifying information, the first menu prompt (press #1) is for membership services including account cancellations . There's no need to speak with a CSR.

Re: CCT

I have not seen the option to cancel using the automated system since about the end of the summer or so.  For the year prior to that, cancelling via the automated system was super quick and easy and could be done any time of day.  Then, it switched to where you could only do it during business hours.  Fine, no problem there.  Finally, CCT seemed to do away with that method of cancelling completely.  If they have reinstated it, that's great news for those that don't feel comfortable with the email method.

Re: CCT

It appears that automated cancellations was only recently reimplemented and there seems to be some glitches like with replaying the confirmation number.  When I cancelled trials for Experian CreditWorks Premium and CCT in early December I had to speak with a CSR.  Then it late December when I cancelled an IdentityWorks Premium trial I was able to follow the menu prompts and cancel directly.  However I decided not to mention it on this forum until I saw that it worked for CCT also.  Then on 1/4 I was able to confirm automated cancellation was also available for CCT.

I just tried calling the CCT number and got the "office is closed" message.  So apparently you still have to call during office hours if you want to do an automated cancellation.

Re: CCT

I've tried several times in the last couple of days to access the automated system to cancel and have not been able to.  I'm very familiar with the system, as I used to cancel via the automated means all the time before it got nixed toward the end of the summer.  I've tried both the main number (866-506-7894) as well as the alternate number (877-284-7942) and neither lets you access the automated system.

The person above that says they were able to access the automated system, specifically which options are you selecting after getting the the ID verification questions?  I've tried both "1" then "1" which is supposed to be to cancel, as well as "1" then "4" which was the only other one that sounded like it could possibly work.  Both options result in you being transferred to a CSR; no automated system is presented.

Re: CCT

I just called Experian (866-506-7894) @6:15 p.m. Central Time on 1/9/2018 and I was able to access the automated system.  I called directly from my laptop using Google Hangouts but it shouldn't make a difference how the call is originated.  The system asked me for social security number, zip code, numeric portion of address, and date of birth and I responded by entering each piece of information using my laptop keyboard. Then I pressed "1" for Membership questions, then "1" again for cancellations and the system immediately responded "You have successfully downgraded your account...." then provided a transaction number.

Its inexplicable to me that I've been able to access it several times to cancel both an Experian IdentityWorks subscription and a CCT trial membership.  The only caveat I noticed is that the automated system is only available during Experian's office hours.
