Can anyone explain? (Score drop)

Last mont there was a paid charge off on my experian and my score was 670, this month that charge off fell off and for some reason my score fell to 660, other than the charge off nothing else changed on my exp, cc balance also dropped.

Re: Can anyone explain? (Score drop)

Was it one of your older accounts? It falling off may have lowered your average or total age significantly. It may have been so old it was hurting your score very little and in fact may have been a positive on your report. Its removal is still a good thing in the long run and your report will look much better on a manual review with it off.

Re: Can anyone explain? (Score drop)

Debtisgood has a valid point there...you may have lost some history when the CO fell off. It may seem counterintuitive, your score DROPPING when something BAD falls off. But if that was your oldest account, losing it will cost you some history.

You may also have been rebucketed, as FICO scoring grades on a curve and you may have moved from a bucket of people with a negative entry to a bucket of consumers without.

In any event, your score should increase from here, over time.
