Re: Close Capital One Secured Card

@JUAN04, I read the disclosures and found that Cap One Venture allows you to have no more than 5 cards.  I applied for that card and receieved 10k CL. I'll wait until I get that card in the mail before cancelling my secured Cap One

Re: Close Capital One Secured Card

With Cap1 you can only have 2 of their subprime cards. Think secured and platinum. You can have 2 of those and still get QS, Venture, etc.

Re: Close Capital One Secured Card

As mentioned before you can have more than 2 cards with Capital One.  The QS1, Platinum and Secured are in the bracket of re building cards.  However, off brand cards does not matter and the Venture, Venture One and etc. all in another bracket.  I have three cards with Capital One currently.  I have the Sony, QS1 and Platinum.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Re: Close Capital One Secured Card

I'm in the same boat. I have secured $800 cl 300 is unsecured. And I have a QS1 that started out as platinum $500 cl and pc'd to a QS1 at 5 months than hit luv button got $100 and credit steps last weekend to $1100. I wanted another unsecured with at least the 800 before closing my secured so I didn't lose that on my CR. I called and no dice, they said I have to close my secured card first.

Question: Do I have to pay my balance in full before closing or just the unsecured part?
