Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

Hi,

I signed up for myEquifax and it was 701, 2 derogs are no longer showing bad payment history but showing all perfect payment history.  I believe that is the root cause. Two tradelines with 12yr and 14yr respectivly of good payments.

Not sure why the flipped from derog to perfect but I'll take it I guess!

Thanks everyone!

Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

Sounds like you went from a dirty file to a clean one.  Congrats!

How old were the negative items and of what severity were they?

Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

That's great, glad it turned out to be something simple.  The score you get from myEQ is Vantage, btb, so you can ignore it.

Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

Gotcha so basically 2 majors of ~6 years in age went away to bring your file clean.  It's good to know that as data for others that may in the future wonder what their potential gain may be from a similar file shift.

Why not go grab your EQ report for free from Credit Karma to see what changed in the meantime while waiting on your MF report.

My experience is that CK stops showing lates after 5 years, possibly because Vantage 3.0 does. Because of that, I would not rely on a CK report to know when derogs actually drop from CB records.

Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

That's the first I've heard of that.  Most people say that the one thing CK is good for is accurate TU/EQ reports.

I would not call them accurate if any negative items between 5-7 years aren't visible on their reports.

Re: Crazy EQ Jump, error?

My lates have totally aged off my report now, but it would be interesting if anyone with lates over 5 (or even 4) years old still sees them on CK. I just checked my reports on CK and all of my older cards only show 4 years of history. I'll also note that when my 30 day late dropped off EX and EQ, my FICO scores went up 25-30 points, and CK Vantage scores did not move at all which suggests that lates drop off Vantage before FICO.
