So how accurate are we supposed to think the score trackers that Credit Card companies are offering are? I had thought Barclays was a true score. I just saw that Capital One offered a score too but this one is 45 points lower than my Barclays score. The Cap One score is within two points of my Credit Karma score, which I know is a FAKO. What should we be trusting for a quick reference outside of MyFICO, if anything?
There are issues of FICO vs. FAKO scores, and different scoring models within the FICO family.
Applying different formulas to identical report information will yield different results.
Thanks...i guess i was just wondering if any of these were actually true scores. For some reason i thought Barclays was....
I believe the score offered to Barclays card holders is TU 08, which is a reliable score.
Makes sense...The Cap One one looks like it's "Transunion New Model." Is that anything reliable?
I don't know anything about Transunion New Model, but I assume it's a FAKO score.
The TU 08 offered by Barclays and Discover and Walmart is a reliable score, as are the EX 08 and EQ 08 scores offered on this site. The other one to mention is the EQ 04 score used in the mortgage business.
In general, developing a scoring model involves a great deal of work, and I assume it's hard to get right.

I believe the cap one fako is almost exactly the same as CK. For me at least everything matches up with CK and cap one scores.

Did myFICO in fact change to EQ08? I have seen the rumors and talk about people's scores being different from Equifax.com's FICO, but I haven't seen anything official. Could it be possible that Equifax changed their model rather than myFICO?
