Re: Credit Card utilization.

@AnonymousSimilarly, a wise boss i once had said he could always, without fail - predict a persons personality by looking at the inside of their car.  If it's real messy, dirty and full of trash - the person is likely always late, unorganized and not dependable.  On the other hand, if their car is impeccably clean inside and out, they are likely on time, dependable and take pride in their work.

Interesting post above and no doubt it probably holds true in many cases.  What about someone that drives 2 cars?  From about the age of 16 to 30 I always had 2 cars... a "nice" one and a "beater."  The nice one I would always wash weekly, keep the interior perfect, etc.  The beater I'd do the exact opposite, owning the car for several years without ever washing it or keeping the inside clean at all, as I didn't care about it.  If your boss were to peek at either one of my cars, he'd get very different impressions of me, but obviously I'm the same person.  Now that I'm nearing 40 it's been about a decade since I've owned 2 cars at once.  After becoming a home owner, cars became quite secondary to me.  I now drive what I'd consider a "practical" vehicile (somewhere between "nice" and "beater") and I treat the vehicle accordingly, meaning not great like I did my nice cars, but not like the trash that my beater cars were.  I guess my point to this tangent is that for some people the car example may have quite a bit to do with the car itself rather than just the driver.

Yeah, this whole car analogy as to reading a person is total bull**bleep**. That boss of yours was probably a racist too. Ya know, you can just tell by a person's looks and color of their skin as to what kind of person he/she is. He was probably really good at judging books by their covers too!

And just for your information...

I don't drive the cleanest car because I'm usually rushed to get somewhere on time or early, or am organizing my important presentations and don't have time to clean my car which is rather low on my priority list because I'm responsible for a lot of people and projects. Meanwhile your boss has the time to look into people's cars to judge their personalities? Where does he find the time to do that and keep his car clean too?

And you call this guy a wise boss? A person that would judge people by the cleanliness of their car? You have to be kidding me!

I keep my cars unwashed and messy so no one would try to steal them, the sleeper look.

Re: Credit Card utilization.

Based on a few of the replies received, I may have offended some people with the car analogy - and for that I apologize.  I myself do not agree with the idea of judging people based on the condition of ones car - and the only reason I mentioned it was because like it or not, we are all "rated" in some manner by statisticians, insurance companies, financial lenders, etc.  Also, I failed to mention that my car is practically always filthy and I tend to carry half my wardrobe in the back seat.  So, if anything the statement I made pertains more to me than anyone else.

I don't think anyone was offended, but in the manner that you posed the quote from a "wise boss" ... "without question" ... it came off as you agreed 100% with his stance on the subject.  Above you're saying that you don't agree with it, which may have been worth mentioning following the original quote in that post.

Re: Credit Card utilization.

He was "wise" at the time as I was only about 20.  Much older now.  I just need to be more careful what I say and how I say it.  Thank you for the clarifying - I'm new to this.

Re: Credit Card utilization.

I took no offense but I gotta add my story;

When my father-in-law died 6 years ago, I got "custody" of my mum and I got his car. 2007 Toyota Camry. I parked my 4-Runner and drove "his" car, mostly to please my mum. I had handicapped plates for a time (that I did not make use of) and ILWU stickers on the windows..

This said nothing about me.

I drove it for 5 1/2 years until I got rear ended and the car totalled. Sad but it must have been time to go-

The 4-Runner, now all but claimed by my DH and bad on gas wasn't an option so.

I bought a BMW, used but very nice. This also says nothing about me.

PS prior to the 4-Runner I drove a Mustang GT <<--- That one did say a lot about me. Tongue Raspberry.gif  LOL

Have a lovely day... twothumbsupgif.png
