Credit karma

Mt credit karma equifax score dropped from 691 to 660. My scores should be moving up if anything. My transunion score went up 17 points to 715. I haven't applied for new cards, everything that should be there is still on my equifax report, no missed payments. literally Nothing has changed except my utilization should be down since I paid a card off. Don't think it reported yet though. I know I know credit karma this and that, I follow it for payment history, account openings, and to see whether my scores should be going up or down. I don't actually trust the number itself. Anyone know why the score could tank for no reason? Should I call them or no?

Re: Credit karma

I wouldn't pay much attention to the CK scores, they are very unpredictable and not very useful. Do you know your true FICOS?

Yea just ignore the CK scores, you should get your FICOS for reference, and now they include the new FICO 09 which is cool.

Re: Credit karma

My Credit Karma scores are 43 points lower than my fico 8's. Disregard them. Check your Fico 8 Eq. Equifax is more sensitive to balance increases and inquiries compared to Ex.

Re: Credit karma

I just use credit karma as a tool to monitor my accounts. I don't really take their scores seriously, if anything I'll use it as a estimate range but not exact score.

Re: Credit karma

Plus 1 to what everyone is said OP.

FAKO from CK is absurd sometimes and almost borders on lunacy IMO. Those are to be ignored ALWAYS.

I often wonder why they don't promote what they are very good at and that is showing us our credit reports (2 CRA's) and some useful details, but they drive that FREE CREDIT SCORE crap like it's the real thing when it couldn't be further from the truth.

Just imagine how long CK would stay in business if they actually had to purchase for all it's many members authentic genuine FICO scores (and every week at that)  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Credit karma

CK is nice for credit monitoring on EQ and TU but the scores they provide aren't used by the majority of lenders.
