I honestly don't remember the scenario, but I didn't think you were a thin file so why was a new account opened? Or if this was a balance update, just fix the balance

Mortgage advice is sit on one's hands with the possible exception of thin files unless it's actually needed, like a car if the old one breaks down but no credit card falls into that category in my opinion anyway.
