Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

So I have been reading about others who have signed up for CCT and I decided to see for myself and signed up just now.  I was surprised at the difference between the two.  In another thread I started yesterday,  I stated how Myfico was not updating  my scores properly,  especially on EX.  I was even more surprised how far off Myfico is from CCT on Fico 08.  This is how the two are reporting as of today..

Myfico  EX 799   EQ  821  TU  811

CCT    EX 815   EQ  830   TU  811

So Myfico is 16 points lower than CCT on EX,  9 points lower on EQ,  and the same on TU.  IMO there is something very wrong with Myfico's updating.  In a week,  I will try to cancel CCT and see if  they will offer me the 50% off deal.  I will no longer  pay for  the inadequate service of  Myfico's reporting.  Just thought that I would give this info out to the rest of the members.  Also,  all items reporting on the 3 reports at CCT are spot on for me.

FICO 08
TU 842 12/8/18
EX 840 12/29/18
EQ 842 12/8/18
(NASA 30K) ( Amex 44k ) ( Freedom 10.6K ) ( US Bank Cash+ 20k, LOC 15k ) Winners never quit, and quitters never win

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

Unless your MyFico scores also updated today, the difference is simply the time between updates.

That is what Myfico is reporting as of today along with CCT.  Also,  I just got my free yearly update on myfico's 3b report so they are certainly not reporting  properly imo.

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

I just signed up for CCT today and was offered a 50% discount for 1 year. I told the guy about the 50% discount for 5 years deal. He said that is only available on the automated system.

I had myfico.com's 3B report for several months, but cancelled it at the end of July. I like seeing the various other Fico versions. But unless you're buying a house or car, those other versions aren't important. I was very irritated with myfico.com because the scores would take two weeks or more to update for Experian, and yet I'd see an update immediately on my Experian Credit Tracker. I just don't think the service is good on myfico.com 3 B reporting to justify the price and update lag in time.

CCT may lack an app, but to get your EX score updated every day, and the score for TU and EQ updated three times a month is the best bargain available; especially at $14.95 a month. It's a great deal. And Experian's website layout is very clean and straight-forward. Plus their customer service is the best of all three CRAs.

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

You should just look under all your accounts and see what the difference between them is based on what has reported or been updated. Do both have the same outstanding debt? If they do then there is something wrong. If they don't, then an account has not updated.

Reporting today and updating today are not the same thing. Did you get your yearly today?

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

My experience has been that MyFICO's updating of EX is inadequate.  While TU and EQ would constantly give me updates, EX is sparse on triggers that would update your score.

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

The credit bureaus calculate Fico scores. An EX 08 score from my fico and an EX 08 score from CCT pulled on the same day will always be the same. This is because the Experian Fico scores are calculated by Experian.

Myfico is a value added reseller. Each of the Credit Bureaus provides a monitoring service. Myfico budles and resells all 3 monitoring services.

Myfico, then adds value to the monitoring services, provided by each Credit Bureau, by providing a Fico score with each alert. The Fico scores are, of course, calculated by the Credit Bureaus. The Credit Bureaus decide how often, and under what circumstances, they are going to provide alerts.

Myfico doesn't have a credit monitoring service. Essentially, it only provides the interface. Myfico is a value addes reseller. It is either of value to you or it is not. Myfico 3B credit monitoring is far from perfect. I personally find it to be very useful.

I certainly do wish that there were more frequent alerts from Experian. That is up to Experian. However, Myfico could provide a fresh Experian Fico once a week, even if there are no Experian Alerts. There is nothing preventing it.

I also have CCT and like it very much.

Re: Difference between Myfico and CCT scoring

I ditched myfico for Experian credit tracker, myfico was just too often out of date and I decided that for gardening watching only one bureau was enough.

Will look into cct when my deal on Experian expires.
