EE vs. just let it fall off

I have ONE FINAL collection notice on my report.

The "date opened" is Nov. 2012 -- so it will fall off in around 11 months.

Is there any benefit in just letting it fall off as opposed to asking for EE?

Thanks.

Re: EE vs. just let it fall off

Is it reporting to all three bureaus?
You can request EE 6months early for tu, 3months for eq. Since it's your final derog you should see a nice score bump. I would do it as it can't hurt your score at all. ☺

Re: EE vs. just let it fall off

Date Opened is irrelevent to credit report exclusion of a collection.

The exclusion date is based soley upon the reported DOFD.

Exclusion must occur no later than 7 years plus 180 days from the reported DOFD, and the CRAs will usually exclude at 7 years.

The date of first delinquency on the account with the OC is always prior to the date that the collection was opened.

What is the DOFD?
